Greek Revival

Project Description

Greek Revival

To undertake the reconstruction of a Greek Revival home on an existing foundation the architects travelled to Wiscasset, Maine to study a collection period homes built between 1820 and 1845. Their careful study allowed them to incorporate the characteristic elements of the style into their 21st century replication. The architects used two back-to-back gables in a pinwheel plan to keep the ridgeline low while also providing the square footage required for modern family living. The firm’s efforts on this home were rewarded with a Builfinch Award from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art.
